Our history

Barchester Healthcare was founded in 1993 with our very first home, Moreton Hill in Gloucestershire.

Moreton Hill, a 17th century farm with stunning views over the Cotswolds, was converted into a unique care setting to create a better alternative for those looking for care. In 1994 Moreton Hill was awarded the Care Home Design Award and Barchester went from strength to strength. Since then Barchester has continued to provide quality care throughout the UK.
