Founded by Cardinal Basil Hume in 1986, the Cardinal Hume Centre gives people access to the skills and support needed to overcome poverty and homelessness.
The Centre gives homeless young people, families in need and local people the support they need to realise their full potential. The Centre focuses on four areas of need: employment, housing, education and skills, and legal status.
Every person who comes to the Centre has different needs. We offer a holistic service, all on one site, that reflects the individual so that people can make informed choices about their future.
The Centre welcomes people from all backgrounds in line with Cardinal Hume’s founding ethos of offering sanctuary.
