Our vision and mission
The mission for an organisation is a statement of its core purpose – what it is the organisation is there to do. Our mission at Somerset Partnership is:
Caring for you in the heart of the community
This captures our aim to deliver care that is personal to the individual as close as possible to where they live – in local communities and in patients’ own homes – and for our staff who deliver those services to be caring and compassionate.
The vision for the organisation is a statement of where we want to be – what the Trust should look like – in the near future. The vision for Somerset Partnership is :
We will be the leading provider of community-based health and social care
This captures our belief that more care should be available outside of acute hospital settings and in local communities and that we can develop our organisation to be the patients’ – and commissioners’ – first choice to provide those services.
The mission and vision for an organisation are supported by its values – timeless guiding principles that set out how we would expect each other to behave towards our patients and their careers and how we would expect to behave towards each other. We have worked closely with staff in developing these values to make sure we capture the compassion and commitment staff show their patients and give everybody the opportunity to have their say.
At Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust we are proud of the excellent service our staff provide to patients, their relatives and their friends every day of the week. As an employer, we recognise that our staff are our truly our greatest asset and we are committed to supporting you to achieve a rewarding and satisfying career.
We employ around 4,300 staff all working to provide excellent quality care for approximately 210,000 people a year! That’s around 35%-40% of Somerset’s total population!
Together, our integrated teams provide an array of mental health, community, learning disabilities and social care services to people of all ages across Somerset and some of our bordering county’s. We have 239 beds across our 13 community hospitals and 143 beds within our 7 mental health inpatient wards as well as the care we provide in the community.
We have been awarded a range of accreditation in recognition of our positive employment practices, including Mindful Employer and the Disability Symbol - Positive about Disabled People and we are committed to embedding the principles of the NHS Constitution.
Our Trust's values are so important to the way we work every day, we're really keen to hear from candidates who share our values and will demonstrate them when joining our team. In return you will receive fair pay at nationally agreed rates of pay, receive locally agreed recognition, NHS employee discounts and benefits schemes, and will be supported with your continual professional development.
