Do you have experience of working in a school-based environment? Are you looking for your next role in education?

LTF Recruitment are delighted to be working alongside one of our partner schools in the Nottingham area who are looking to add a teaching assistant to their team to work alongside their pupils who present with special educational needs. The role will be full time (Mon-Fri) and will be contracted until the end of July 2021.

The school are looking for someone who:

  • Has an understanding of how to work with autistic pupils
  • Holds at least one years' experience of working within a school
  • Holds a teaching assistant qualification or relevant degree
  • Has a fantastic attendance record and will be reliable
  • Will be able to quickly build relationships with children and staff
  • Is available to work from March 2021
  • Has a valid and up to date DBS

The main duties within the role will be:

  • Working 1-2-1 with children who have: Autism, ADHD & behavioural challenges
  • Leading small academic sessions with pupils on the SEN register
  • Supporting children with reading, writing and phonics
  • Liaising with the class teacher and SENCO around pupil progress
  • Helping the class teacher to engage SEN pupils in lessons
  • Assisting the class teacher with the setup of the classroom
