South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust is one of the top performing organisations within the NHS. Our staff think this is a great place to work and we hope you will agree.
We provide services across Warwickshire and beyond ranging from Hospitals in Warwick, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Royal Leamington Spa and Shipston-on Stour to Community Services across the whole county. We are a progressive, expanding organisation with great ambition around improving quality, integrating pathways and delivering high levels of productivity. Over 4500 people work for the Trust and many of them have been here a long time. People find they don’t need to go elsewhere to find a fulfilling career in healthcare.
The first thing you will notice about us is how we take our values seriously. We believe that our values underpin everything we do. If you are interested in a role with us you need to make sure our values match your own.
Our values can be summed up in one sentence. We are ‘Trusted to provide safe, effective and compassionate care’. Throughout the recruitment process you will asked to think about how you demonstrate these values and how they impact on your work. It doesn’t matter what role you do, whether it is patient facing or not, we are all working in the same way with our values at the core.

Development of services and increasing demand for ultrasound examinations means that SWFT are looking for advanced practitioner Sonographers to join our busy ultrasound team. The team currently performs in excess of 15,000 obstetric scans and 15,000 general scans per year. Ultrasound services support a variety of one stop clinics including TIA clinics so experience of carotid doppler scanning is desirable.
The department has recently purchased new ultrasound equipment and has 2 new ultrasound rooms at Stratford Hospital which enables the Trust to offer a complete range of examinations across all hospitals, including the community.
A flexible approach to work is essential, working across 4 sites, and to be part of a team working an extended day and week-end sessions to improve service needs and patient flow.
You should be qualified to PG Certificate or Diploma level in Ultrasound imaging, HCPC registered and be able to scan and independently report examinations in the modules in which qualified, which may include obstetrics, gynaecological, general medical and vascular ultrasound.
The successful candidate will be expected to work weekends and advance clinical skills into other areas as required.
