Architectural Model Maker

About you

You will be working effectively with people at all levels and from all backgrounds and have excellent communication skills. You will need to be a proactive self-starter and comfortable with working to tight deadlines. You will have the ability to follow directions from the directors and teams.

Required key skills:

  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings
  • Knowledge of laser cutting principles
  • Ability to use a variety of workshop equipment
  • Hand model making skills in materials such as wood, plastics, foam board and Styrofoam
  • Painting techniques and ability to use spray gun and aerosols
  • Finishing skills including sanding and spraying
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety issues, including use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations
  • Beneficial skills:

  • Knowledge of electrics and LED circuits
  • Required software knowledge:

  • Autocad – essential
  • Rhino – beneficial and 3D printing softwares (netfabb, meshlab and similar)- beneficial
