Job Description

NCG has a clear purpose - to unlock potential through learning. We’re committed to improving the quality of teaching and learning provision across the Group and to support this we are looking to appoint an Assistant Director of Teaching, Learning & Assessment.

Working within the Group Services function the NCG Quality Improvement Team work across all NCG's colleges and training providers to support continuous improvement. Collaboration is key to how we will improve and this role will work alongside teaching and management colleagues to improve the quality of teaching, learning and assessment through a range of targeted, purposeful activity. With the opportunity to make a broad impact the role will include policy development, training delivery and coaching, whilst continuously monitoring the impact of the Groups Teaching, Learning & Assessment policy through evaluation of teaching and curriculum scrutiny.

With a national remit the role holder can be based from any of NCG’s locations but travel to other divisions will be required.

We are keen to hear from applicants with significant senior curriculum and leadership experience in further education and skills. They will have extensive experience in the classroom/workshop and a proven track record in raising standards associated with teaching and learning. Applicants must have experience delivering high quality training to teaching practitioners and in the evaluation of teaching, learning and assessment. Experience working as an Ofsted inspector would be desirable, but not essential.

Interviews are planned to take place in Newcastle upon on Tyne on the 7th February 2019.
