If the answer is yes, then we have two exciting vacancies available within Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) at Alexander Barracks in Pirbright.

DPHC is a vibrant and fast-moving organisation that aims to sustain and improve the operational effectiveness of injured service personnel by provision of high quality targeted rehabilitation. The successful candidate will work with other physiotherapists and the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team to provide a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy / rehabilitation service to entitled personnel. The population is generally young and healthy and much of the work relates to occupational health, minor injuries and sports medicine.

Our chosen candidates will perform highly skilled physiotherapy assessments of patients referred to us by Consultants, General Practitioners and other Professionals with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic physical conditions and sports injuries.

You will be responsible for formulating, developing and delivering a specialised individualised treatment programme based upon evidence-based practice, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.

You will be expected to communicate effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for assessment and treatment, good understanding of their conditions and maximise their rehabilitation potential.

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.

Please be aware that if you are found successful you will be asked to provide evidence of your immunity to Hepatitis B.

One of the positions available is being offered as a permanent position and the other as a Fixed Term Appointment. The Fixed Term Appointment will run until May 2020 due to a funding a review.

Qualifications/Membership:

To be found successful for this post you must hold a degree in Physiotherapy plus additional specialist training or experience to post graduate diploma level or equivalent. You must be a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (MCSP) and/or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), State Registered Physiotherapist (HPC).

Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is security check.

All employees joining Ministry of Defence who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a 6-month probation period (unless otherwise advised) effective from the employment start date.
