Junior Sister / Charge nurse  | Surgical Wards | Band 6 equivalent | Worcester | Full Time, Monday – Sunday on rotation | Award winning CPD | £2000 Joining bonus available.

This is a very exciting opportunity for a driven nurse to advance their career within a supportive environment with future potential progression prospects. You will  help lead our established surgical ward team to provide outstanding care to our patients. Our elective surgical ward consists of 25 beds including 15 private rooms.

Duties and responsibilities:

As a Charge nurse on shift, you will lead your team by example acting as role model and supporting your team to develop their skills whilst providing exemplary care to our patients.

  • Deputising for the ward manager
  • Co-ordination of shifts
  • Ability to lead and coordinate on daily basis.
  • Troubleshoot and raise concerns to the Ward Sister or Matron
  • Support the nursing team, HCA’s, and Ward sister
  • Delegate work to others.
  • Competent to make safe discharge decisions working with our consultant team

Who we're looking for:

You will be able to demonstrate your strong surgical background as well as any previous leadership experience.  

  • Registered Nurse
  • Extensive surgical nursing experience
  • Previous band 6 experience would be advantageous
  • Valid NMC registration with no restrictions or conditions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous leadership experience would be an advantage
  • Autonomous decision maker
