Applications are warmly invited from qualified band 7 Child & Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists who have completed an ACP accredited Child & Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy 4 year doctoral course. The post is based is based within a lively and busy generic team at Bromley CAMHS. The post is fixed term for 6 months with the possibility of extension to cover maternity leave. The team comprises of a consultant child & adolescent psychotherapist, team manager, consultant psychiatrist, family therapists, psychologists, consultant nurse, specialist nurses and trainee clinicians from different disciplines.
As stated, you will be a qualified child & adolescent psychotherapist and have experience of working with disturbed children and adolescents presenting with high levels of complexity. As a band 7 Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist you will provide effective, comprehensive and specialist assessments and brief treatment to children, young people and their and/or their families and carers who are presenting with severe, enduring and complex mental health needs. You will also be involved in working jointly with other multi-disciplinary professionals within the team to devise care plans and care pathways.
Bromley CAMHS offers excellent clinical, management and administrative support within a very busy multi-disciplinary setting comprising of three other dedicated specialist teams – Adolescent team, Neuro-developmental team and Looked After and Adopted Children’s team.
Bromley CAMHS underwent a re-configuration of services during 2014, and as part of Oxleas commitment to multi-disciplinary working there is a child & adolescent psychotherapist based in each of the Bromley teams. There are currently eight Child & Adolescent psychotherapy posts at Bromley including an 8C consultant psychotherapist and two psychotherapists in training. You would be part of a vibrant Oxleas borough-wide Child Psychotherapy group made up of Child psychotherapists from Greenwich and Bexley CAMHS. There is also the opportunity of joining our weekly psychotherapy workshop and monthly academic forum run by the child psychotherapists for the presentation of case material.
