Care and Support Jobs are proud to be supporting the recruitment of a Clinical Unit Manager for one of the UK's leading healthcare providers.

We are looking for a dedicated Unit Manager/ Senior Sister to come and work in an amazing care home based in the Wakefield area. The home comprises of 180 rooms and provides the following care: Dementia Nursing, Convalescence, Palliative and Parkinson's.

About the Role:

To be responsible for the well-being of residents within the Home, ensuring that their
physical, emotional and social needs are met whilst helping them to achieve their full capabilities. To support the Home Manager in the operational management of the home.

Responsibilities include:

  • To assess the individual physical, mental and social needs of residents and ensure that they receive the highest standards of personal care and attention appropriate to their needs.
  • To establish good personal relationships with residents and their families.
  • To ensure accurate record keeping in relation to the care of all residents.
  • To ensure that the day to day running of the care aspects of the home accords with management policies, quality systems and to ensure compliance with statutory requirements
  • To maintain and promote relationships with General Practitioners and nursing and medical contacts in the local community.
  • To act up for the Manager when required and provide administrative cover out of hours, taking charge of the Home in rotation with other staff. At these times to be responsible for the smooth running of the Home in all areas. To undertake on-call requirements as agreed with the Home Manager.
  • To ensure Investor in People (IIP) standard is maintained by giving guidance and training to staff, providing clinical support and direction as required through effective appraisal.
  • To ensure that adequate measures are taken to protect the Health and Safety of both residents and staff.
  • To adhere to company policies and procedures through effective quality audit.

What we need for you:

  • Registered Nurse (valid PIN) RGN, RMN
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to work on own initiative unsupervised
  • Work to deadlines

Care and Support jobs would also welcome applications from Senior Sisters who are looking for their next step up in their career (ideally must be looking after 50 - 60 residents at present within an Older Persons setting)
