Commercial Planning Manager

The Disney+ EMEA team is responsible for the overall commercial performance and day-to-day operations of Disney+ across the region.

As part of the next stage in the business’s growth Disney+ will launch in a new set of territories (“Wave 4 markets”) where due to local market considerations TWDC is taking a bespoke approach to product development and subscriber growth.

The Commercial Planning Manager, will be responsible for ensuring there are well-defined and socialised targets for Wave 4 markets, including sign-ups, marketing budgets, retention and other key DTC metrics. Highly collaborative in nature, this role will work with many different Disney+ functions (such as business strategy, finance and marketing) to own a consolidated view on annual and quarterly targets. This role will leverage strategic thinking, insights from Disney+ data, bottom-up plans from markets, market intelligence, research and analytics, to define the most appropriate plans for the DTC business.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Subscriber Growth, this role will be responsible for the following areas (for “wave 4 markets):
  • Further development of D+ strategy and planning, leveraging market and competitor insights, learnings from D+ research and past performance
  • Forecasting (sign-up, subs targets and marketing budget), working closely with marketing, finance teams and senior management
  • Supporting the partnership lead to forecast partnership net growth
  • Analyse current trends of trading
  • Consolidating local plans at EMEA level, coordinating with local stakeholders
  • Creation of decks for EMEA & US exec updates
Specific skills and experience we are looking for include:
  • High numeracy and analytical ability & rigour
  • Strong Excel skills. Confidence building models
  • Strong presentation skills – regular deck preparation for stakeholders
  • Proactive, self-motivated and focused on delivery
  • Collaborative mind-set and able to navigate and build trust in a complex organisation
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
