About the roleDo you want to make a difference to the lives of people who have a disability? We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, flexible people who would enjoy supporting adults with disabilities to live the lives they want. The Service supports people with learning/ physical disabilities in their own homes over 24hrs. The Wake and Watch support worker role involves all aspects of support, including providing personal care, support with managing finance, administering medication, and ensuring people's needs are met in terms of health and positive outcomes. The successful applicant will value others and have a person-centred approach, supporting people with dignity and respect always. We are recruiting part time Wake and Watch staff to provide overnight support for individuals who have learning disabilities and complex behaviour needs. Usual working hours will be 10pm until 8am and the role will include implementing the individual's night-time support plan and other agreed activities. Successful candidates will be expected to be available to undertake training and team events, including probation, supervision, and team meetings, during daytime working hours, for which payment is made. You will be given a thorough induction to the role and be well supported by an experienced management team. Skills and Experience Experience of working with adults who have a learning disability is desirable but not essential as you will be given the necessary support and training to undertake this role. Applicants who do not hold NVQ Level 3 at the time of appointment will be required to complete QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care within the first 2 years of employment. Care Certificate training is also provided. Please note all training will be funded by the Service. The DBS check required for this post is provided free of charge. This position is part time, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent, the salary received will be paid on a pro–rata basis. This post is a COVID-19 critical post. The successful applicant/s will be required to undergo regular COVID-19 testing and are strongly encouraged to take up the offer of the COVID-19 vaccination.
