We are in need of an experienced finance manager / director in Cardiff to lead our finance team and help us reach our productivity and growth targets.
This role could either be a good step into a political environment or a solid step upward for an experienced finance manager. A highly resourceful, confident and self-starting individual is essential to succeed in this role.
•Maintaining and developing a business appropriate control environment and enhancing and improving upon current governance structures within the delivery framework.
•To identify areas of business risks and produce effective and meaningful mitigation plans.
•Ensure effective delivery of projects and schemes in challenging environments via overseeing financial assurance and identifying potential risks and mitigating them.
•Develop data, evidence and monitor information in order to inform the National framework and the five-year gateway review.
•Drive the culture of self-assessment that promotes self-awareness to ensure a strong and ongoing reflection within the department to insure constant passive improvement.
•Undertake risk reward endeavours and develop processes to ensure their success. Conduct audits and reviews using performance information to transform, innovate and identify value.
•Develop professional relationships nationally in order to attract partnerships that benefit regional growth.
•Oversee compliance in the investment and intervention framework and ensure processes contribute positively to the Joint Working agreement.
•Oversee budgetary performance, forecasting and evaluation of business productivity, identifying areas for improvement.
•Developing processes for risk management and developing technical understandings for opportunity cost and risk-reward factoring.
•Ensure compliancy with policies and procedures and ensure that all policies demonstrate integrity.
•Oversee the process of sound financial management and the reporting of financial programmes in a timely manner.
Qualifications and experience;
Required experience and qualifications:
•ACCA or CIMA.
•Experience in either a financial manager or financial director role.
•Writing financial reports
•Risk management and mitigation
Desirable experience and qualifications:
•Degree in related field
