We are part of an independent boutique hotel group, focused on providing exceptional customer service to all of our guests. The hotel has 44 bedrooms, a restaurant & bar and a large function room which accommodates meetings, events & weddings. The hotel has a country house feel and a picturesque walled garden. Extensive refurbishment work has been carried out at the property over the last 18 months and therefore we are looking for an experienced, hands-on Food & Beverage Manager to join and lead the team.

Food and Beverage Manager:

The Food and Beverage Manager ensures the smooth operation of the bar and restaurant area by managing and directing staffing, tidiness and cleanliness, food and beverage service and delivering an all-round excellent guest experience.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Food and Beverage Managers key responsibilities are:

  • Maximising all revenue opportunities through effective teamwork and development.
  • Mentoring more junior members of the team, to ensure they have a good understanding of what they need to do and why.
  • Devising and delivering training sessions around current offers, promotions and the high standards of service expected by the hotel and its guests.
  • Creating rotas each week to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Controlling costs and meeting GP targets.
  • Stock management, including stock ordering, deliveries, rotation and barrel preparation.
  • Cellar management duties, such as maintaining the cellar's environment, security and ensuring it is a safe and tidy area for colleagues.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety policies, as well as company standards, throughout the bar and restaurant.
  • Carrying out a Duty Manager role as a senior member of the team.
  • To ensure focus on outstanding customer service that always exceeds our guests’ expectations.

Food and Beverage Manager – key Skills:

  • Can stay calm in pressurised situations.
  • Has a smart appearance and keen eye for detail.
  • Is flexible with their working hours and is comfortable working unsociable hours, as you will be working throughout the various departments including conference and events, weddings, restaurant and bar.
  • Understands what makes, and delivers, a great customer experience.
  • Has experience of managing and motivating teams to provide outstanding customer service, that makes guests and visitors want to return time and again.
