Job Description

Key Responsibilities:



Financial Planning & Budgeting

Preparation of all aspects of financial planning and forecasting for SAF including long range plans, annual budget setting, periodic forecasts and associated ICAAP based stress testing
Review and strengthen existing processes and financial models to improve the value of outputs and ensure their robustness
Preparation of submissions to Central FP&A teams within deadlines



Business Performance & Reporting

Prepare monthly reporting packs and board presentations outlining key financial performance metrics
Provide timely commentary and variance analysis to support business leaders in understanding their financial performance against budgets and forecasts including business level analysis (i.e. Core leasing, Green energy, Contract hire, Football, PCH)
Work with the financial control team over month-end to ensure the financials accurately reflect business activities for the month
Support colleagues in financial control and wider Bank finance teams as required



Analysis

Prepare pricing and return on equity requests for large, complex deal transactions
Support the FP&A Manager, AF&L Finance Director and divisional CEO with adhoc analysis on topical issues
Refine and improve existing processes and challenge outputs to create relevant, value-adding analysis for use by the business and Central finance
Provide wider support throughout the Asset Finance & Leasing finance team to assist in managing peak workflows



Conduct, Risk and Compliance

Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required and in line with reporting deadlines



Skills & Experience:



Essential

Strong attention to detail
Team player committed to ensuring that the overall team objectives are met.
Experience of delivering effective reporting under tight deadlines.
Experience of collaborating with others across functional and geographic boundaries.





Desirable

Solid relevant accounting experience and technical knowledge
Experience of financial modelling of structured project finance and intermediary led products
Previous knowledge and experience of accounting requirements within the asset finance industry
Worked effectively within a large, multi-site and complex business.



Education & Qualifications:



Essential

Commercially strong and analytical
Degree educated or equivalent
Studying towards or qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent



Desirable

Strong Microsoft office skills, notably Excel and PowerPoint
Experience of business partnering or FP&A activities
