SummaryDesigns, develops, enhances and delivers high quality software for a functional area or project in line with business needs and priorities. The role contributes to ensuring products and services are fit for purpose and meet quality standards and to work with Public Website team on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. About the Role Key Responsibilities and Scope of role: Software Delivery Develops new applications and enhances and updates existing applications. Partners with IT solution delivery teams, including Architecture, Infrastructure, Testing and 3rd party solution providers, to identify, translate and develop requirements to build highly robust and scalable products and services. Executes required deliverables through software development, test, integration and support activities adhering to the project design principles and roadmaps. Defines and implements software engineering standards and patterns. Designs, builds, and maintains high quality, efficient, reusable, and reliable code aligned to the Solution Architecture designs and approved patterns. Develops technical documents to accurately represent application design and code. Develops simulation and test software in order to improve reliability and compatibility within products. Mitigates risk of delivery failure by working closely with Change Delivery teams to inform and direct decisions through effective application of quality management and governance. Ensures adherence to Quilter policies and maintains an appropriate level of Governance and Assurance in conjunction with these policies. Practice Improvement Drives continuous improvement within the software engineering community of practice, recommending technical developments to improve quality of the applications software to better meet business needs About You Key Behavioural Skills: Embraces change and initiates new and better ways of working to deliver positive customer outcomes. Qualifications required: Graduate level or equivalent desirable ITIL Practitioner Agile Practitioner Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Strong knowledge of more than one of the following: o Web Content Management platforms e.g. Episerver o HTML and CSS, AngularJS, jQuery o GitHub (or other source control solution) o Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment o Object Orientated Programming and SOLID o Design and Architecture Patterns o Unit Testing Proven track record within an IT function, including systems analysis and application development. Experience in working with both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies. Understanding of industry best practice and trends together with their application within a business context. Knowledge of a wide variety of technologies including several of the disciplines in strategic IT architecture covering either application, infrastructure, data or security architecture with evidenced practice of at least two domains. Broad knowledge of the financial services industry and key regulatory requirements together with an understanding of business processes. Experience in root cause analysis.
