Job Description



Ian Farmer Associates, a member of RSK Group Ltd, is a geotechnical and geo-environmental site investigation company with offices covering the majority of the United Kingdom. It is further supported by a fully accredited UKAS laboratory and together with the Geosciences division of RSK, the company makes RSK Group one of the UK’s largest site investigation service providers.



We are looking to recruit a member of the team for our Accounts department in our Tyne and Wear office and believe this would be a good first move from practice into industry.



This is a full time role, working 37.5hours each week.



Accountant – Washington, Tyne & Wear



Reporting to the Finance Director, responsibilities to include:



Involvement in month end processes
Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
Maintenance of purchase and sales ledgers including statements and reconciliations
Liaising with customers and suppliers
Making supplier payments
Credit control
Checking of contract / legal documents
Processing of any other accounts documents
Any other Ad Hoc duties required by the department



The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:



Excellent communication skills and confident attitude
The ability to work both within a team and individually
Good time keeping
Be within a reasonable travelling distance of your office base, or be prepared to re-locate



Relevant experience in a finance function or accountancy practice essential.



Salary and benefits:



£20,000 - £22,000 depending on experience
