An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and professional Head of HR to join our client’s team in Southport.

Job Title: Head of HR
Location: Southport
Salary: £40,000 OTE
Benefits: Company Car, Mobile, Laptop, Bupa Plan, up to 22 days holiday Bank Holidays

Our client requires a pragmatic and resilient Head of HR. A committed individual who is passionate about delivering excellent HR services to the Board of Directors, Managers and Colleagues. Key responsibilities of their Head of HR:

- Lead, mentor and develop the HR team to ensure maximum value and quality of service is provided to our business
- Responsible for leading the HR team activities, including recruitment, learning and development, employee engagement, employee relations, compensation and benefits, talent management, HR systems and management information
- Represent the HR department professionally and with credibility, demonstrating confidence and skill to the Board of Directors, Managers and Colleagues
- Ensure the timely provision of company-wide management information that interprets people data, analyses predictive trends on staff turnover, absence, cost per hire etc
- Develop and rollout an effective operational people strategy
- Use expertise to give counsel and oversee complex employee relations issues
- Develop and implement HR initiatives
- Ensure effective people management practice and legal compliance is achieved with all HR and business led people activities
- Demonstrate commercial awareness, challenging where appropriate, providing counsel on people matters where appropriate and offering pragmatic solutions where required
- Contribute to making our client an employer of choice, creating a positive working environment and engaged culture

What they are looking for in their Head of HR:

- Solid employment law knowledge and proven experience of applying updated legislation to a variety of HR situations
- Previous experience in a similar role for a large company is essential
- Must be CIPD qualified and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience at a senior level
- Experience of working in a high turnover, fast paced and dynamic industry
- Proven ability in establishing credibility and building departmental accountability
- Able to problem solve and demonstrate primarily operational HR skills
- Proven experience in being a role model for change and leadership
- Comfortable in developing team members and empowering staff
- Demonstrates commercial acumen in partnering with the business to deliver commercially focused people strategies
- Management of actual redundancy & Tupe situations including the coaching of managers
- Outstanding communication skills, including challenging conversations
- Ability to influence board members
- Energised and motivated by constant change
