Head of QA

Draper Tools London, Greater London Full Time

As the Head of QA, you will build, lead and inspire the Quality Assurance team to deliver the day-to-day functions of the Quality Assurance department.

  • You will be responsible for:
  • Overseeing ISO9001 and ISO14001 compliance
  • Maintaining documented procedures, product certification and other compliance requirements
  • Overseeing product testing and performance reports to ensure both functional and legal requirements are meet
  • Managing goods inward and pre-shipment product inspections
  • Liaising and collaborating with our Far East General Manager and QA team
  • Communicating directly with our supplier base as required
  • Overseeing analysis and investigate of product warranty return and customer reviews
  • Acting as a key stakeholder in progressing our sustainable environmental policy
  • Assisting the Customer Service and Technical Support teams
  • Generating and measuring KPI reports for senior management
  • Providing technical and practical guidance to the Buying and Quality Assurance teams

  • Skills required

  • Proven, substantial experience in a senior role, working either in the manufacturing, importing, distribution or retail environment - ideally from within the hand tool, power tool, hardware market sector
  • Experience dealing with manufacturers/suppliers from UK, EU and importantly the Far East - ideally having had first-hand knowledge of such facilities
  • Able to demonstrate both practical and analytical skills
  • Have a genuine interest in progressing sustainable environmental actions
  • Be an excellent manager with the ability to lead and coach the team to success. You have extensive experience in Quality Assurance process and relating product knowledge
  • Able to build strong relationships; you can work cross functionally and with global teams around the world
  • Confident in presenting to internal key stakeholders and customers
  • Recognise the importance of both internal and external feedback and can use this insight to influence meaningful and positive change
  • Possess integrity, recognising the importance of acting early and escalating where required
