Health & Safety Advisor in London Greater London, United Kingdom

London Greater London, United Kingdom | N/A | Permanent

Working on an Oil and Gas project can be dangerous.

You need the ability to anticipate problems before they arise.

From providing specialist technical assessments to giving expert advice and guidance on potential HSE risks to colleagues, your work can determine the safety and success of a project.

This isnt easy, but the rewards are big.

About this role

Youll be based in London and working for an industry leader in Oil and Gas.

Day to day, you will provide vital support in the development and maintenance of the HSE Management Systems, creating documentation describing the interface arrangements with contractors for well intervention and drilling operations.

You will also be working closely within the UK Drilling Department personnel in the preparation of the Regulatory Notification Documents and provide your HSE expertise when needed.

This is the kind of job that requires a team effort. You will be working alongside not just the Drilling Department but also offshore company representatives, contractors, stakeholders and UK regulators.

We will need your expertise to advise on compliance with relevant applicable laws, statutory legislation and company guidelines, directives and standards.

You will take the lead in identifying HSE risk assessment and management activities, including HAZIDs, HAZOPs, SIMOPs, QRAs. As well as ensuring that relevant risk registers are produced and kept up to date.

Along with coordinating the execution of all necessary studies, reviews, verifications and assessments to demonstrate compliance with internal and external requirements, ensuring timely preparation of relevant reports.

Most importantly, making sure that all internal and external reporting requirements are fully met, as well as complying with the company code of ethics and Law 231 principles.

About you

To do this, youll need a degree in Science, Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent, as well as relevant experience in oil and gas.

You have a deep understanding of the key technical safety related risks associated with the different phases of an E&P development, with a focus on drilling, completion and work-over activities.

Aside from this, you have a strong awareness of the UK offshore oil and gas industry and its legislation.

As well as an understanding of safety, risk-modelling tools coupled with sound auditing skills and experience.

To truly be successful in this role, we need someone with an analytical mind, with integrity and ethical values. Youre excited by working in often challenging environments and you work well to deadlines.

What we offer

This is a 12-month contract and your daily rate will be around £600.

Due to time and cost constraints, we are looking for a candidate already living and working in the United Kingdom.
