Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ideally situated just a forty five minute drive from Manchester. The Trust provides services to the 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and North Lancashire, as well as specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology patients. Fully Rotational Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspirational and motivated Health Care Assistants to join our dedicated Acute Stroke and Rehabilitation Unit and Gastroenterology Ward at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. You must have a desire to work within Stroke or Gastroenterology and have extremely high standards in providing care to our patients and their families.

The successful candidate will be supported by both our nursing and medical team and essential training for the role will be provided.

You must be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of healthcare professionals and be enthusiastic and passionate about delivery of high quality care. As a health care assistant within the Stroke Unit or Gastroenterology Ward your role will be assisting our patients with everyday tasks which involve maintaining a good oral intake, assisting with personal hygiene, and escorting patients to various procedures whilst also assisting both our medical and nursing teams deliver treatment.

Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing the successful applicant/s DBS application be recovered via salary deduction following start in post. The amount of £23+£4 (standard disclosure) or £40+£4 (enhanced disclosure) can be deducted from salary, in manageable monthly installments for up to 3 months following commencement of employment.

Applicants are encouraged where possible, to register for the DBS update service, which will save the cost of repeated disclosures between employers, in return for a annual registration fee of £13.
