Kitchen/Laundry/Domestic Assistant  - Latham Lodge, Purbrook, Waterlooville PO7 5PD 

40 hours per week - £8.91 per hour

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant/Housekeeper to join our busy catering and hospitality team at Latham Lodge Nursing Home 

Main duties:

Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence
Report to the Head Chef
Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required
Ensure statutory Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas
Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area (and, where appropriate, the dining areas) is carried out effectively
Promote safe working practice in the Care Centre
Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales.
Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained
Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you

Clean and sanitize rooms including furnishings in assigned work areas
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout all facilities
To sort, wash, dry and iron appropriately all items of personal and flat linen received into the laundry.
To work in accordance with COSHH, Health and Safety and Local Authority regulations.
To use all equipment in a safe and appropriate manner and to clean as necessary after use.
To report to the Manager any damage, defects or hazard with equipment.
To check the state of repair of service users clothing, carry out minor repairs and ensure that it is clearly marked with the individual’s name.
To inform the Manager of any damage or defects to clothing and bring it to the attention of the domestic supervisor.
Will need to demonstrate the ability to work without direct supervision.
Must have ability to do extensive standing, bending, lifting, and pulling carts and equipment.
Demonstrate an understanding of age specifics, cultural, and ethnic needs for patients and customers that have language barriers, physical and mental impairments, learning disabilities, and those dealing with emotional stress.
You will have experience working in a similar role and have good communication skills. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and be able to maintain high level of hygiene within the home.
