Working for one of the largest, global ink manufacturing companies, you will join a friendly team within one of their many laboratories.
There are about 180 staff on site, including 60 scientific staff, some with PhD’s. The site is situated on the outskirts of the town of Midsomer Norton, about 10 miles south of Bath. The person appointed will experience working for a large international company.
DESCRIPTION OF POST / KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
You will be an integral part of a development team working on a variety of technical issues. This will allow you to gain good practical laboratory experience, combined with formulation experience as a part of product development. You will have the opportunity to work on specific projects and you will be expected to achieve results. The exact nature of the project will depend on customer needs at the time. The laboratories are fully equipped with a wide range of specialised instrumentation and you will also work with a range of laboratory-scale processing equipment used in the ink industry.
You will be studying a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Natural Sciences, Maths/Physics, Biochemistry or another science-based subject. You will be IT literate, numerate, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will enjoy hands-on practical work at the lab bench with attention to good housekeeping and health and safety procedures. As you will be working in a lab environment you will be the type of person who can pay attention to detail and who is aware that comprehensive written records are vital. You will be able to demonstrate that you are logical, analytical and that you are able to use your own initiative.
