Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides services through its three hospitals in Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester. We provide all general hospital services for planned and emergency care as well as specialist services.
Applications are invited for the above Consultant post for the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful applicant will be expected to deliver diagnostic and clinical infection and medical microbiology services & antimicrobial stewardship with support for operational infection control services working with the Director of Infection Prevention & Control and the infection prevention and control team, as required. Clinical infection and medical microbiology liaison work (including daily ward rounds and opportunity to develop infection clinics to facilitate discharge and outpatient management of infection) together with promotion of antimicrobial stewardship /participation in antimicrobial ward rounds is expected. There is no out of hours on- call commitment with this post .
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the major provider of hospital services to North and Mid Hampshire and consists of three hospital sites at Basingstoke, Winchester and Andover. The post will incorporate work at all three sites but predominantly based at Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital. There are excellent interconnecting major roads. There are frequent rail links to London and the south coast. The urban location of Basingstoke and Andover are two of the fastest growing towns in Europe and complement the historical, cathedral town of Winchester. In-between is a network of villages and small market towns amid Hampshire’s beautiful country side.
Applicants are required to be on the GMC’s Specialist Register in Medical Microbiology OR Medical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases, or within 6 months of their CCT date (or equivalent) at the time of the interview.
