We are the largest recycler of Steel in the UK and through using Electric Arc Steelmaking, Vacuum Induction Melting, Mill processing and our dedicated service centres, we are able to produce and supply a variety of high-value precision-engineered products for Aerospace, Oil and Gas, Industrial Engineering, Bar and Narrow Strip.

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as an experienced Mechanical Technician reporting to the team leader / shift engineer. Whilst working to a good standard of health and safety in a team working environment, you will deliver and follow routine planned maintenance schedules, reporting of duties and responding to breakdowns.

To be successful you will need:

Recognised Mechanical apprenticeship (HNC/ONC level or equivalent)
Mechanical experience of heavy manufacturing industry and use of mechanical equipment, specialist tools, lifting equipment for example
Basic hydraulic, welding and pipefitting
Previous experience Mechanical maintenance of handling equipment, pumps and pipework systems
Previous experience of PPM and reporting of PPM activities and breakdowns
Previous experience of maintenance of Gearbox’s and coupling systems
Experience of working in confined spaces and at heights
A good understanding and knowledge of Health Safety Legislation with experience of adhering to SWP’s, risk assessments, procedures and permit systems
Good level of problem solving awareness with an ability to fault find of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Experience of crane maintenance
