Here at Southend University Hospital we strive to provide high quality care for every patient, every time.

We would be nothing without our staff. So it goes without saying that when it comes to recruiting new team members, we're looking for the best. We encourage staff to be innovative, to challenge the 'as is' and to always put patients first.

We want staff who will live our trust values every day.

Care with compassion, Working together, Professional and accountable

This is an exciting time to join us. The three NHS trusts that currently run Broomfield, Southend and Basildon hospitals are planning to become a new single NHS organisation by mid-2019.

All three hospitals will continue to provide the services our patients use the most. These include outpatient appointments, children’s services and day-case surgery.  All three hospitals will continue to provide 24/7 A&E and maternity services.

By working as one team we will provide the same high standard of care and services for all of our 1.2m local residents. Using the same equipment, processes and IT systems means services will run more smoothly.  Single leadership, standards and new structures will speed up decision making.  Combined corporate services will reduce duplication and cut running costs. This means more money for front-line services and faster improvements.

Attracting new talent is key to our future and the scale of our organisation will give far  more career, training and development opportunities for all our staff.

NEWLY QUALIFIED NURSES - LOOK NO FURTHER!

Three mid and south east Essex Acute trusts are operating within a rapidly changing, challenging but very exciting time of whole system reformation. The Trusts are in partnership as a fast developing hospital network currently comprising of Southend University Hospital NHS FT, Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Mid Essex Hospital NHS Trust (the Group). Over the next few years, through working together and in partnership with the Essex Success Regime (ESR) programme, they will define the future of care for the population of mid and south Essex.

The hospital is currently looking to recruit Newly Qualified Nurses that may have just finished their training and are looking for their first challenge although we will potentially consider other circumstances.

We have lots of exciting opportunities to offer candidates that want a friendly and supportive environment to grow and build their career as a Registered Nurse.

We can offer roles within different specialities; all we ask is that you specify your preference in your application form so that we can match you to the right role in the right department.
