Axa Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent Full Time

At AXA Health, we’re looking for a registered nurse to join our medical information helpline service, Health at Hand, on a 6-month fixed term contract. This role is predominantly home based with occasional travel to our Tunbridge Wells office approximately once or twice per month.

You’ll work a 4-week rota which includes some evenings, nights and weekends and this will remain fixed so you can plan around your hours. Day shifts typically range between the hours of 8am – 9pm in the evening with night shifts typically starting at 8.30pm. A shift allowance is provided on top of your salary to account for any unsociable hours you work.

Your responsibilities will include:

◦ Providing empathetic guidance and support on a broad range of health-related issues; general health and wellbeing, pregnancy, treatments and chronic conditions to members and their families both over the phone and through our online system

◦ Maintaining our Health at Hand helplines by supporting callers with relevant information on a 24-hour, 365 day per year basis

◦ Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

◦ Taking an active interest in your team, department and wider business targets to understand how you can personally contribute to achieve these

◦ Acting as a clinical expert and role model to provide specialist knowledge and assistance

◦ Taking ownership and continuously developing your professional skills, including enhancement of your clinical knowledge

◦ Registered General Nurse (RGN)

◦ Additional qualification in Midwifery or Mental Health is an advantage but not essential

◦ Current registration with Nursing Midwifery Council(NMC).

◦ Substantive post registration clinical experience

◦ Excellent written and verbal skills

◦ Negotiation skills

◦ Ability to build strong working relationships

◦ IT skills – Use of internal IT systems required
