Role Purpose:

  • Lead, manage and coach the Underwriting Assistant resources across the locations/LOB
  • Manage Underwriting Assistant resource ensuring that the business is supported as required through allocation and prioritisation of workloads
  • Monitor day to day operational business support and drive consistency of processes and reporting
  • Conduct process reviews to deliver improvements and efficiencies whilst driving cost efficiencies
  • Understand current audit and compliance issues (incl. SOX controls) and facilitate satisfactory resolution of same
  • Provide daily support to the Business Operations Manager
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure day to day core UA tasks are completed, with SLA’s and quality requirements adhered to
  • Manage and measure UAs involvement in Pipeline management and support of revenue generation
  • Utilise the UA resource pool to effectively support all underwriting teams bearing in mind absences and workloads
  • Collate and provide required metrics and MI reports to the Business Operations Manager &/or Business
  • Drive consistency across UK&I and nurture a right first time approach
  • Work with our third party partner to ensure agreed service levels, and quality requirements are attained and future realignment opportunities realised
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Business Operations Manager and/or the business as and when required
  • Manage and promote development of Underwriting Assistants on a continual improvement basis
  • Organise training and coaching for Underwriting Assistants in conjunction with the Business Operations Manager
  • Support system implementations and evolution, through proactive participation in build/enhancement reviews; UAT, training
  • Ensure team is compliant with all current compliance and audit requirements, providing support to the Business Operations manager for the overall area where applicable
  • To work within the framework of our ethical and service standards
  • Qualifications & skills required:
  • Bachelor Degree - preferred
  • 7+ years of work experience
  • Insurance Industry Knowledge
  • Excellent Data Analysis Skills via Excel needed
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team
  • Stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills
