Job Description

Band 7 Physiotherapist - 1 Year Fixed Term Contract

Starting:  2nd Dec 2019 for 12 month Maternity Leave Cover

Hours:  30 hours per week / 3 days per week Mon Wed Fri (negotiable)

Salary:  £35 per hour (£54,600)

We are looking for an experienced Physiothearpist to join our team at Peter Gidney Neurological Centre.  This purpose built centre is designed to care for adults who are medically stable, with a range of neurological conditions including, but not limited to: Acquired Brain Injury, Huntington’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, Spinal Injury and patients requiring Tracheostomy Care, Enteral Feeding and Supra-pubic catheters.

It is our aim to ensure that people receive the best possible support to access our service at the most suitable time, and feel appropriately supported in their journey towards more independence.

Set in extensive grounds with patio areas, and ample parking for visitors, Peter Gidney Neurological Centre is located in the village of Darenth in North Kent, close to Dartford.  The Centre is part of our Beechcare Nursing & Care Home at Four Seasons Health Care, which offers residential care for people who need a little help with daily tasks and nursing care for those with more complex medical needs and for people with dementia.

The Role: 

  • Sole Physiotherapist working alongside a clinical team of nurses and care practitioners
  • Participate in the provision of high quality therapeutic activities, using a wide range of approaches to suit the patient’s varying needs
  • Encourage independence and personal choice and help to provide an environment which is conducive to patients with varied and complex needs realizing their potential to live as independently as they can find possible
  • Ensure that you provide evidence-based practice and are outcome focussed
  • Communicate and liaise effectively within the multi-disciplinary team Take an active role in the development of personal professional development
  • Continually strive for clinical excellence whilst retaining integrity and technical skill and competence

Job Requirements

Person Specification:

  • BSc in Physiotherapy, HCPC Registered and at least Band 7
  • Experience in Neuro Rehab would be an advantage but not essential
  • Must have good experience in rehabilitation
  • Experienced working independently / Sole Physiotherapist
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Have initiative and creativity and be self motivated
  • Legal right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available for this post)
  • Able to start on the 2nd of December
