Are you experienced, motivated and dynamic with a passion for education? We are currently looking to recruit a Practice Development Nurse to join our busy Acute Medical Unit in The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.

You should be able to demonstrate leadership, motivational and clinical expertise with the ability to inspire the Nursing team. You will need a clear vision for the future of Emergency and Acute Nursing and creativity assisting in the delivery of an educational programme encompassing training and development, utilising a multidisciplinary approach where appropriate. You will support and implement innovation, promote best practice and make use of audit to influence change whilst working closely with the Department manager. By building and strengthening relationships throughout the department and wider Trust, you will positively influence the profile of Emergency and Acute Medicine and the wider nursing agenda. You will identify the current and future developmental needs of the nursing team, developing a strategy to deliver this.

The successful applicant would need to have evidence of working within an Acute Medical Unit and an organised, calm and efficient approach is essential, with the ability to work to deadlines as required. You will need to have credible and relevant acute medical experience.

You will support the ward manager in influencing and auditing change, promoting best practice and high standards of care for patients within the department. You will also be pivotal in supporting staff through their competency assessments and gaining training opportunities within the trust.
