We're looking for a Product Manager Intelligence - The Work to join our team in London as part of our Product Development function.

Ascential is seeking a Product Manager to help manage their next generation of digital products within Lions. This is a highly visible and challenging role, and will be a key driver towards building a customer centric and ‘digital first’ approach - it is a great opportunity to make a significant creative impact. This role will join an extremely successful team who have played a key part in growing our digital business for many years. Working on our intelligence platform The Work, you will be allocated a group of year one existing accounts and work with them on their annual subscription to ensure that you retain and grow the revenue. Working with key agencies and brands, you have the opportunity to create relationships that can change their business. The Work has been through a huge transformation and is now a key part of LIONS success as we transition into a business that is more than just the event.

This person will be expected to drive strategy and implementation within the brand portfolio of digital product roadmap and services. We are looking for a pragmatic and strong leader who will bring previous experience of a successful delivery of a large-scale digital transformation inside of a business where digital had not previously been at the operational core.

The successful candidate will be an innovative, customer-focused leader with a growth mindset, who balances product intuition, creative problem solving and data-driven decision making. A sound understanding of the Marketing industry and the ability to understand the perspective of key industry players, and developing leading products that deliver recurring digital and membership revenues is vital. 

As a Product Manager you are in the pivotal role of translating the company’s business and product strategy into products. You will work closely with various stakeholders to evaluate product opportunities and determine what gets built and delivered to customers.

You will guide and collaborate with the engineering team on what gets built, based on insights you are gathering from the market, customers and internal teams. You will be an advocate of your product and work closely with internal teams, such as sales, marketing, and others to bring your product successfully to market. You will be experienced in product management best practices and help imbed these approaches within Lions.

We’re early on in our product management journey here at Lions, and so we’re looking for someone with a hands on and strategic approach to guide us on the path. 

Key Responsibilities 

Product Management 

  • Implement and instil product discipline by following best practice product development methods 
  • Aggregate input from many different stakeholders and translate them into a product/module strategy 
  • Describe what to build and the expected business outcomes for Lions and its customers, through the means of writing epics or by building prototypes alongside, UX designers
  • Manage, prioritize and maintain the product backlog and align and collaborate with the engineering team during the build process
  • Deliver an outcome-based roadmap and achieve alignments on committed dates and timelines with the engineering, business and delivery and teams
  • Forster alignment between the executive team, sales, marketing, consulting and product engineering 
  • Establish and monitor product metrics / KPI and report on them
  • Drive Product vision , strategy, and roadmap - product lifecycle management from concept to go to market launch of the product(s) across all products / product lines
  • Partner with the executive team to clearly communicate a defined product portfolio vision and strategy in a high-growth environment, and enroll the entire business unit in delivering it 
  • Align product, design, and engineering teams to improve cross-functional collaboration and communication 
  • Work with Commercial leads to define pricing and competitive positioning for each product 
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing on go to market strategies for each product or product lines
  • Collaborate with Data Science colleagues, to ensure data and analytics are at the heart of the customer offering
  • Set and deliver against data led Product Success targets for the product suite, ensuring instrumentation and analytics are in place to support. 
  • Drive continuous improvement & flexibility in the team, while championing product management best practices

  • Your Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience of product management with web and mobile technologies
  • Agile / Scrum Master Qualifications beneficial but not essential
  • Proven track record of success in developing B2B & B2C products with high quality user experience 
  • Experience in planning development roadmaps which correlate business needs
  •  Influencing skills; interacting with stakeholders and leading / developing teams; with a customer led viewpoint
  • The right candidate has the ability to uncover customer needs, translate those needs into a set of product features and gain alignment on the delivery with the Engineering organization, whilst being able to align to overall business and customer needs
  • An understanding of engineering and technical depth to build trust with engineering leadership 
  • Previous experience of working within a culture where digital has not historically been at the centre of the operation 
  • Ability to translate technical terminology to business stakeholders
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and apply structure, rigour and priorities to your workload 
  • Involvement and passion for Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and supporting organisations to drive meaningful and equitable outcomes
