We are looking for an experienced Project Planner to join our planning team based in Hartlepool. As Project Planner you will be responsible for the planning of projects via Primavera P6, ensuring that the project reporting is carried out in a way to accurately reflect the current status of projects. You will also be required to ensure that the necessary plans and reports are prepared for submission to management and clients.

Reporting into the Planning Manager, you will work with the Project Managers and other teams to communicate effectively on project risks, constraints and opportunities by carrying out scenario modelling.

As Project Planner your main duties will be:

  • Extracting relevant information from manufacturing plans as prepared by the production planning departments, and collating the information into the format required by the project, including engineering, procurement and activities.
  • Preparation of schedule updates, S-Curves and Earned value data on a weekly basis for the specified projects, in the formats required per project.
  • Preparation of Project Specific Schedules for the specified projects, inclusive of engineering, project management and procurement activities.
  • Attend and support project review meetings, communicate to the team on current delivery projections, critical path and spotlighting activities over short term horizon.
  • Planning of design workload and other project related functions such as analysis, R&D, ensuring the resources are in line with the workload requirements of all projects when required.
  • Prepare weekly histograms on resource loadings, analysing the data, looking to level out demand whilst ensuring project remains on time.
  • Assist with the preparation of forecast schedules as and when required.
  • Liaison with Clients planners on specific projects to agree schedules.

To be successful in this role you will have significant planning experience, which will include the preparation of detailed project plans. Previous experience of working with Primavera P6 is essential, as well as having good knowledge of MS Project and Excel.

A strong communicator, you will have the ability to work well within in a team, and be confident at communicating with people at all levels. You will be comfortable to share your specialist skills with others in order to help teach and coach those around you in planning techniques and software. You will be adept at managing multiple priorities and working in a fast-paced environment.

A background in Oil and Gas and/or renewable energy industry would be ideal, but not essential for the role.
