The Proposal Writer applies their knowledge to write, edit, collect feedback on, and deliver proposals / Statements of Work (SOW) for regulatory and quality consulting services to enable client success. Executes proposal development activities by working collaboratively across the organization and in conjunction particularly with Sales and Subject Matter Experts to clarify business opportunities, to support development of services, and to improve existing sales packages. Addresses proposal related questions from clients, sales, consulting services, and finance to ensure defined project scope and developed strategy is clearly understood. Reports to the VP of Sales/Business Development.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitates the completion of proposal/SOW development activities for assigned project opportunities by executing the tasks outlines in the R&Q Sales Procedure including project estimation form, initial statement of work, pre-proposal, and final Statement of Work and/or formal proposals.

Supports the development and description of Deliverables, Scope, Level of Resource, and project approach that fulfil the needs of the Client Sales Summary as provided by Sales. Works with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to define project scope, activities, and hours whilst ensuring that designed service is documented in the SOWs that are well understood and clear both to the potential client and the Consulting Services organization.

Maintains communication with Sales to clarify scope, ensure alignment on potential customer’s needs, and confirmed R&Q service offering.

Provides expectations regarding target completion date for proposal/SOW documentation so that client expectations can be clear.

Supports the development of operations strategies for the defined consulting scope of work in collaboration Project Owners, SMEs, PMO, and Sr. VP of Operations.

Supports development of responses to complex Request for Proposal (RFPs) via interaction with Sales, SMEs and the client.

Helps to monitor and improve the Sales process. Applies continuous improvement principles to drive process improvements. Ensures the R&Q Sales Procedure is followed or change if needed.

Works towards target timeline for proposal development activities (SOW’s, RFP’s, pre-proposal)

Triggers the R&Q internal proposal review process, as needed.

Inputs the proposal development data for each assigned opportunity including key dates for processing quotes and key fields for business analytics. Ensures relevant data is maintained in Open Air. Monitors proposal development metrics alongside Consulting Services and Sales.

Support the creation of Sales tools and training and works with Sr. VP Consulting Services and VP of Sales to deliver appropriate training.

Works with resourcing team to ensure timely receipt of R&Q resumes to meet client expectations. Provides necessary inputs to recruiting for applicable opportunities.

Key Requirements

Bachelor level degree in engineering or another technical field required, advanced degree preferred.

Minimum 0-5 years working in a quality and/or regulatory role preferred; CRO experience a plus.

Advanced computer skills – including business applications, data analysis, reporting, writing, and proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Experience exercising discretion and maintaining confidential information, required

Good interpersonal skills as well as experience working collaboratively in a team environment. Demonstrated persuasion and consensus building skills

Must have the ability to show assertiveness, leadership, problem solving skills and team building.

Results oriented individual; self-motivated and self-starter with strong interpersonal skills with a focus on team goals.

A strong sense of urgency required.

Creativity, forward thinking and innovation skills are a must.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with co-workers and management required. Having e ability to interact with all levels in the organization is also required.

Detailed orientated, strong organization skills, analytical mind-set, time- management.

Ability to maintain composure, take direction from multiple people, and work independently.

Willing to problem solve and deal with ambiguity and the ability to approach problems from a holistic perspective.
