Job Description

Purchase Ledger duties to include but not limited to

  • Assist with the Bank Reconciliation for all the bank accounts
  • Age Creditors maintenance including pro-actively chasing invoices for pro-forma payments
  • Being first point of contact for all purchase and payment queries
  • Coding and checking of all invoices.
  • File invoices and supplier statement reconciliation
  • Ensure all receipts match the expenses.
  • Manage and Reconcile Petty Cash monthly and check petty cash reconciliation from multiple offices.
  • Obtain monthly credit card receipts, create and post the credit card transaction jnl for the month in question.
  • Protects organisation's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Reviewing systems and processes and making improvements where necessary
  • Assist with VAT reconciliations
  • Any other adhoc duties that is within your capability
  • Maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers

  • Technical Competencies Required

  • Bookkeeping skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of another Microsoft applications.
  • Experience of Sage 200 or other similar financial software
  • Experienced working in a financial control environment and able to demonstrate understanding of accounting issues.

  • Previous experience as a Purchase Ledger Clerk/Accounts Payable assistant
  • Ability to resolve and reconcile issues with limited supervision by identifying sources of errors, making retrospective corrections, and ensuring that appropriate changes are put in place to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Excellent communication skills and organisational skills and be able to manage a busy workload independently.
  • Highly competent in analysis and interpretation of information.
  • Highly numerate with high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in developing relationships with internal customers.
  • Prepared to take ownership of tasks and outputs.
