Job Description

Rail Customer Service - Welfare Van Driver

Ontrak Recruitment & Training are actively seeking committed and outgoing Rail Customer Service Assistants to join our valued and long-standing clients on the Railways.

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Ensuring the completion of the signing in/out sheets and communicating and attendance or lateness within 30 minutes of the shift start time
  • Ensuring all incident forms are completed and returned before the end of shift
  • Communicate with the office via email if dispatch is required
  • Use of the company card is for company use only. Any misuse of company equipment will result in instant dismissal. (Any company expenses must be accompanied by a receipt for goods)
  • Remaining present at the station for the whole of your shift
  • Ensuring health and safety is adhered to
  • Being familiar with local instructions, the dispatch plan, general memos and notices for each station you work at.
  • Managing difficult situations
  • Comply with all safety requirements as defined, ensuring personal safety and that of others at all times
  • Ensuring up to date record keeping including log books, security checks, incident forms and completing BTP reports
  • Communicate effectively with other staff and passengers in the interests of safety and customer service using information systems as supplied
  • Station security including the HOT protocol
  • Ensure you and the team are in possession of the required personal safety documentation and identification
  • Report irregularities, equipment failures or any incident affecting, or which may affect, the safety of the line or service to the customer
  • Carry out emergency procedures as locally specified on your induction
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, rules and regulations set out by the TOC (Train Operating Company)
  • Your company ID must be worn and be visible at all times
  • Adhering to HIDDEN 18 working regulations

Are you the right candidate for the job?

  • You must hold a clean full UK driver's licence
  • Do you have previous customer service experience?
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Are you over the age of 18?
  • Are you comfortable working alone?
  • Do you have the flexibility to work different shift times? Please note the railways operate 7 days a week inclusive of weekends, 365 days a year
  • You must be available to start immediately as these are temporary positions

Please note you must be able to get to your location of work for a 05:00 start, the latest finish could be 00:30. Please note shifts can be either 8 or 12 hours.
