Job Description

What's the opportunity?

The Recruitment Advisor will oversee all recruitment activity across the management population of the business. They will manage the candidate journey through the entire recruitment process, from point of application up to offer stage.

Liaising with hiring managers, the wider HR team and key business leads, the Recruitment Advisor will partner with them to establish individual role requirements. They will then source high quality candidates through various channels who match the Gist values and culture, and meet the necessary skills and experience - a 'right people, right roles' approach.

The Recruitment Advisor will also look to continuously improve our selection approach, including creatively designing and implementing new assessment centre materials and interview packs that meet the needs of individual vacancies. Success within the role will be assessed against their ability to build stakeholder relationships, as well as key metrics such as time, cost, source and quality of hires.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensuring job requisitions are correctly raised and authorised
  • Conducting full and detailed job briefings with line managers
  • Designing and writing job adverts
  • Successfully advertising vacancies via internal and external channels - assessing various recruitment methods and selecting the most appropriate routes to market for each role
  • Building relationships with a range of hiring managers, HR teams and key senior stakeholders across the organisation
  • Liaising with local HR teams and hiring managers to gather feedback and update on progress of current vacancies, as well identifying future needs
  • Assessing candidate applications and screening them against the job requirements Conducting detailed and insightful telephone interviews at initial stages to assess candidate suitability - this will include high volume activity against operational vacancies, as well as support function roles
  • Reviewing the recruitment materials to be used for each vacancy to ensure they are fit for purpose
  • Providing interview coaching and training to line managers and internal candidates where needed
  • Organising and facilitating assessment centres - designing new selection techniques to ensure that we are able to identify the top talent
  • Providing candidates with appropriate and constructive feedback
  • Making candidate offers and assisting in the production of offer letters
  • Liaising with external suppliers where required
  • Ensuring that we take a proactive approach to Recruitment - creating talent pools and pipelines for future requirements
  • Appropriate and consistent communication with the business to ensure all stakeholders are kept informed of recruitment activity
  • Providing advice and support to others on recruitment best practice and process, methods of attraction, utilisation of the applicant tracking system, etc.
  • Getting involved with wider recruitment and HR projects as required
  • What will you need to succeed?

  • Previous experience within a recruitment role - in house experience desirable but not essential
  • Experience at recruiting roles for Logistics/Supply Chain environment would be beneficial well as variety of support function roles (i.e. HR, Finance, IT, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Ability to guide and influence senior stakeholders, with the confidence and conviction to make decisions
  • Ability to manage difficult conversations and provide constructive feedback to candidates
  • Good understanding of recruitment principles and technology
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Flair for innovation and the ability to be involved in projects when required
  • Proactive approach towards ensuring that we achieve a continuous improvement culture
  • Flexibility around working hours to meet the needs of the business
  • Full UK driving licence - this role may involve travel and overnight stays
