About you

You are a technician with experience in modelling a range of buildings. You are able to demonstrate technical aptitude supplemented by outstanding IT skills. You enjoy expressing creative ideas and are able to communicate effectively to build firm working relationships. You can demonstrate the ability to identify technical issues and have a collaborative team-working style. You are able to provide a fresh, practical approach and have sound engineering knowledge.

Key responsibilities The role will include, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • To assist the BIM Lead and update structural aspects of multi-disciplinary models;
  • Reviewing 3D survey information alongside the point cloud information;
  • Creating structural drawings; including sections and details based on historic archive information & 3D Surveys
  • Delivering information within defined timescales;
  • Communicate clearly with senior technicians in the team;
  • Ensure appropriate health and safety information is added to drawings and models;
  • Manage information in accordance with company and client procedures.
  • Essential requirement

    Due to the confidential nature of the project, security clearance will be required. All candidates must be able to provide personal/employee references to prove they have been residents in the UK for at least 3 out of 5 years.

    Your education and technical skills

  • Hold a minimum of an ONC in Civil Engineering or relevant engineering course;
  • 2-3+ years Revit experience within the UK structures environment and at least 5 years working for a civil and structural engineering company/companies (London firms desirable);
  • Proficient use of Navisworks Manage and AutoCAD;
  • Experience of modelling existing masonry structures including refurbishment and temporary works elements;
  • Able to produce 3D BIM models to a Level 2 Standard. All to in-house BIM specifications;
  • Able to use and create Parametric Families;
  • Able to follow required Quality Assurance Systems;
  • Able to use and create project templates and filters to in-house standards;
  • Develop the structural model by close coordination with all the project design disciplines.
  • Used to multi-disciplinary collaborative working;
  • Experience of modelling historic and large scale buildings (desirable);
  • CSCS card holder (desirable);
  • Good engineering knowledge and understanding of key structural engineering principals.

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines under pressure;
  • Have a pragmatic approach and possess strong problem-solving techniques;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships in an international multi-disciplinary environment;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with an ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy;
  • Focused on the task in hand and ensuring structural design team is progressing in accordance with the programme.

    Interviews
