Outline:- Managing engineering activities within a small team of production engineers. Working with the (NPI) New Product Implementation team to support in the development of products for customers such as Facebook, Microsoft, Google, and HPE. Responsible for maintaining the companies technical (ERP) Engineering Resource Planning system for Bill of Materials, Routings and Master data. Working in cross functional teams to support the NPI and ongoing production processes
Key duties and responsibilities include: Managing and leading a small team of production engineers. ERP System management – including Description, PN, Routings, Master Data creation and management. Process development for new and existing products within the sheet metal environment. Product costing – including cost analysis for engineering reviews and final product cost approval. Expertise in sheet metal manufacturing including CNC programming press tools and brake presses. Supporting design reviews and linking this to (DFMEA) Design Failure Mode Analysis and also (PFMEA) Process Failure Mode Analysis. Leading (DFM) Design for Manufacture meetings to ensure manufacturing processes are considered during the design phase of the products.
Essential Qualifications Desirable Qualifications HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering 1. Mechanical Engineering Degree GCSE Maths or equivalent GCSE English
Essential Knowledge SAP or equivalent ERP system knowledge (Engineering resource Planning). Understanding of Machine Programming software. BOM Building. Expertise in sheet metal manufacturing including CNC programming press tools and brake presses. Six sigma Problem solving. Lean manufacturing principles.
Skills Leading teams. Good communication skills. Confident to lead meetings and team events. Engineering and Manufacturing processes.
Experience A proven record of leading engineering activities within and engineering environment. Machine Programming. Pierce and Folding tooling and principles.
