£45,000 - £55,000/Year
My Client, a fast growing and reputable T Cell Therapy specialist Biotech in London is currently looking to hire a Senior Scientist to act as a Group Leader for the Molecular Biology arm of the ever busy and ever growing Discovery and New Technology team.
Position and Purpose
* Design, develop and lead complex research assignments based on corporate priorities and goals
* Manage scientific activities across multiple projects
* The candidate will oversee a team of scientists/Research associates.
Essential Requirements
* PhD in gene therapy, immunotherapy, molecular immunology or relevant discipline +5 years academic or industry related experience
* Demonstrable experience in molecular biology, gene therapy and/or CAR/TCR technologies
* Experience in synthetic biology
* Creative mindset
* Ability to work independently and complete high quality research projects
* Well versed in a wide array of relevant laboratory techniques and experienced in their use
* Excellent problem solving skills
* Ability to interpret complex data and implement new work methods
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Experience supervising or managing students or junior members of the team
* Excellent team working and networking skills with experience of interacting effectively across interfaces of discipline, culture and expertise
Desirable Requirements
* Experience working in a pharmaceutical or biotech laboratory environment
* Demonstrable early discovery experience
* Understanding of state-of-the-art assay technology platforms
* Good knowledge of gene modification techniques: viral vectors, gene editing
* Back ground in immunology or T reg biology
* Publication record and/or experience of presenting scientific data
* Experience writing grants, fellowships or research proposals
