Senior Support Worker
£9.20 an hour plus fantastic benefits
Are you looking for your next career move? Could you mentor a team whilst supporting people with learning disabilities?
Help our Award winning charity to support and empower people with learning disabilities - it's one of the most heartfelt feelings in the world and something that will stay with you forever...
We have a vacancy for a full-time Senior Support Worker at our supported living service in the Evesham area. This role is for 38 hours per week.
About the role
You will play a key part assisting the people we support to live as independently as possible, joining in with their favourite pastimes and hobbies and helping them be active members of their local community. The people we support (6-8 adults) have complex learning disabilities and autism and ages vary from 27 - 60 years old. You will work with them to learn new skills. Some of our activitiies include; Snoezelon, hydrotherapy, listening to music, going for walks, lunches and visiting places of interest. There will be an element of personal care involved.
As a Senior practitioner, you'll support your frontline manager with developing rotas, and deputising for them in their absence. You'll work with the staff team, carrying out supervisions, mentoring them and identifying training opportunities, whether formal or informal.
This may be a great opportunity for you if you have experience as a care worker supporting vulnerable people and want to take the next step in your career leading a staff team.
You'll take your turn working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.
