Job Description

Make a difference today!

Could you give a couple of hours a week to Glenn so he can get out of his home?

Our Member Glenn is an 85 year old gentleman, ex steelworker, who lives alone within a care complex, although he has family and friends locally, hes feeling lonely on occasions and would like to gain a friendly volunteer to take him out and about locally.

Ideally Glenn would like someone who can drive with their own transport, to be able to pick him up and both enjoy a ride out to a local coffee shop of place of interest, have a cuppa and a good chat. Glenn loves to socialise, however, due to his combined sight and hearing loss and mobility issues he doesn't get the opportunity to get out very much, this is now having an impact on him, and hes feeling more and more isolated and lonely.

Glenn is in a wheelchair therefore the volunteer would need to be physically fit to assist him in and out of a vehicle and to push when out and about.

Due to other care commitments generally Glenn will be available mornings and afternoons, Wednesday to Fridays, But don't worry if these hours aren't quite right for you Glenn can be flexible.

Could you give Glenn a new lease of life and get him out locally? Yes ... then apply today
