Job Description

It’s an exciting time to be working for YMCA England & Wales. After introducing a new national brand in 2014, and working with local YMCAs to implement this across the country, we are now growing our fundraising and developing our retail operation. We are campaigning more than ever for the needs of young people, with national campaigns including IAMWHOLE and BE REAL, and we will be celebrating our 175th birthday in 2019.

The role

As an Assistant Shop Manager you will be a self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills and be inspired by the challenges of charity retailing. You will assist the Shop Manager in managing staff, volunteers, premises and stock to provide a high quality of customer service and push sales to achieve targets.

We are keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Achieving sales and profit targets;
Stock control and stock generation;
Management of staff and volunteers;
An understanding of health and safety;
Recruitment and training;
Merchandising/creative skills;
Flexibility and adaptability.
