Support Worker Female at Dimensions

Support Worker Female

Dimensions Sheffield, South Yorkshire Full Time

Female Support Workers

£10.45 per hour

Part-time contracts - 16 or 22 hours per week

This is a complex service and is better suited to experienced Support Workers

  • Do you have  ambition  and strive to help others achieve their full potential?
  • Do you have the  courage  to work through challenges and make a difference?
  • Do you act with  integrity  and can be relied upon to do the right thing?
  • Do you work in  partnership  with others to achieve more for the people you support?
  • Do you  respect  others and recognise that every person's unique contribution is valuable?
  • Dimensions are one of the country’s largest not-for-profit organisations and we are driven by our values. People with learning disabilities and their families are at the heart of everything we do.

We're currently supporting a young lady in her late 20s who has complex needs in the S8 area of Sheffield and we’re looking for friendly, calm and understanding people to join her fabulous support team!

She has autism, a personality disorder, epilepsy and a traumatic history, and she can display behaviours that others may find distressing. She has a range of interests and loves teletubbies, going to the cinema, going shopping for clothes and homewares and she loves to celebrate milestones like her birthday and the anniversary of the day she moved into her new home.

She is mostly independent when it comes to her personal care and appreciates friendly reminders and encouragement rather than full support. She requires support with her meal preparation, preparing her medication, grocery shopping and household tasks including cooking, cleaning and laundry.

Her shifts start at 8am - 3:30pm for a day shift or 3:30pm - 8am the following morning for a sleep over shift (sleep hours are 11pm - 7am). We're looking for people who can work flexibly on the rota, working a combination of the shifts across the week and at weekends. At Dimensions, we value a healthy work / life balance so you will receive your rota 4 weeks in advance.

Dimensions are also proud to be one of very few social care organisations that have been recognised by the Great Places to Work programme in 2019, 2020 & 2021. As well as a comprehensive induction, full training and continued support from management, our colleagues have access to:

  • 30 days annual leave
  • Paid training
  • A comprehensive well-being strategy and staff listening network
  • Discounts and cash back on shopping worth £500 a year
  • Childcare vouchers
  • £200 bonus for recommending a friend to us if they go on to be successfully employed
  • Discounts on meals, health clubs, and car, home and travel insurance
  • Applications will be reviewed upon receipt and interviews will take place until the positions are filled. If you’re excited by this opportunity, don’t delay, apply today! We look forward to receiving your application.

  • An enhanced Adult DBS disclosure will be required for this role, the cost of which will be incurred by Dimensions.
  • We welcome applications from everyone and value diversity in our workforce
  • As disability confident leaders, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy - Dimensions has been awarded this symbol by Jobcentre Plus to recognise our commitment towards the employment, retention, training and career development of disabled employees
  • As part of our commitment to making reasonable adjustments we can offer support to complete your application
  • Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.

Other organisations call this role Community Support Worker, Residential Support Worker, Care Worker, Care Assistant, Social Care Worker, Social Care Assistant or, Bank HCA, Healthcare Assistant or Carer.
