Support Worker

(Known internally as Enablement Assistant)

Rate of Pay £10.20 per hour

Location: Hamworthy, Poole

Shift Patterns: Full time days or nights

About the role

Adam is an endearing 18-year-old who has a happy and playful disposition. He has autism and learning disabilities and needs Support Workers who are able to support him in the next stages of his life. His family have always held high aspirations for him to live a good and full life, doing the things that he loves the most. With the right people around him both his family and PBS4 believe that he can be enabled to achieve what he would like from his life.

Adam is at his happiest when he is riding the escalators and lifts in shopping centres. He loves the outdoors and feeling the breeze through his hair. When he wants to unwind, he likes nothing more than watching his favourite episodes of Teletubbies and Thomas the Tank Engine on YouTube.

Those that are sensitive to Adam's moods will be able to reassure him when he anxious and recognise when he needs his own company.

Adams is looking for fun team members who will help him transition from school into his very own home, team members will need to be both confident and happy individuals that are able to set clear boundaries so that Adam feels safe at all times.

About PBS4

We are a not for profit and social enterprise support provider for adults and young adults who have learning disabilities and/or autism. We support people to live in their own homes, with their own tenancies and our model of support is a practice called Positive Behaviour Support. Our CEO Jonathan Beebee is a registered Learning Disabilities Nurse and qualified Behaviour Analyst. We are a medium-sized organisation supporting 35 people across Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire and Oxfordshire and with a workforce of just over 200.

As an Enablement Assistant you will have the support of a team of people dedicated to supporting that person. You will also be able to access support from the Deputy Enablement Manager, the Enablement Manager, and the Positive Behaviour Support Clinician who provide you and the team with management and leadership. Your shift pattern may consist of day shifts, waking nights and sleeps.
