You'll join an enthusiastic staff team and support four gentlemen, who share a home in Hengrove, Bristol. They have learning disabilities, dementia and autism, have been friends for many years and enjoy varied social activities. You don't necessarily need experience as we provide full training. A full driving licence is essential.

About the role
Your day will involve supporting the gentlemen with everyday tasks, for example cooking, cleaning their home and managing finances. You'll also support them with their personal care and medication needs. Find out more about these aspects of the role through videos on our main website. The individuals enjoy social activities such as going out in the car and accessing shops and the surrounding areas; you'll support them to increase their independence and explore new things. You'll build professional relationships based on trust, respect and understanding.
If you're new to social care, we will support you gain the nationally recognised Care Certificate. If you have experience as a care assistant or care worker in a care home, you'll discover we provide plenty of on-going training, support to achieve relevant qualifications and career progression. You'll need good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. Respectful of people's differences, you can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach. You can work 24/7 shifts including weekends and evenings / nights.
A full driving licence is essential for this role.
We offer a range of benefits.
All support workers work flexible shifts to provide a 24/7 service to the people we support.
Full-time support workers work 37.5 hours plus one sleep-in a week (pay for these sleep-ins is included in the annual salary figures shown above). We also have some services where sleep-ins are not required. The salary for these roles is £16,953 - £17,774 pa.
All Support Workers have the option of working additional hours or sleep-ins in a range of services and are paid £50-£70 extra per sleep-in.
