BAND 5 Trauma & Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner – Friendly and supportive learning environment with developmental opportunities, innovative and dynamic team.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a motivated and dynamic team, with huge potential to develop and progress. We are a Major NHS trust based in the upcoming and exciting town of Reading in Berkshire and considered one of the best places to work according to the NHS Staff survey 2017.

The Royal Berkshire Hospital, part of the NHS Foundation Trust, is rated outstanding by the CQC and is also considered one of the best hospitals in the UK, graded 6th in the country. The hospital comprises of twenty operating theatres covering multiple specialties. The Trauma and Orthopaedic theatre department consists of two designated Trauma theatres and a unique ring-fenced Elective Orthopaedic unit holding a further 4 theatres and recovery.

We deliver excellent patient experience and quality of care, with patient safety at the forefront of our practice, recognising that theatre practitioners play a vital role in our patient pathway. In return we offer an in-depth in house and external development opportunities and support for career progression.

We’re looking for enthusiastic and motivated people who aspire to learn and develop to join our inspirational team. Whether you have Orthopaedic theatre experience or not, full support and training will be provided. Although the position is based in Trauma and Orthopaedic you will have the opportunity to work across different specialties.

The successful candidate will demonstrate high standards of practice with excellent communication, clinical and decision making skills. They will need to demonstrate the ability to translate the trusts vision of high quality care and excellent patient experience into action.

Location: Reading is multi-cultural, lively town that is perfectly situated to access London with ease via the network rail system as well as being surrounded by some of the beautiful countryside that Berkshire and Oxfordshire has to offer. The town invites many things to do and is well known for popular events such as the annual Reading Festival and Reading Half Marathon.

Requirements & Responsibilities:

NMC registered nurse or HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner (ODP).

Be motivated and enthusiastic about your own professional development and keen to enhance skills and competencies within the team.

Full Time position; 37.5 hours over 4 days.
